What is Podcasting?

Podcasting does for media what RSS did for articles. You can subscribe to several different podcasts and have them available to you via the podcasting software. Google Reader can also act as podcasting software. However if you’re wanting to make the media available to you while you’re offline or on your mobile phone there are several different options available to you.

Android: "Listen" is a android application that allows you to subscribe to podcasts via Google reader and have them available for playback on your android phone anywhere.
iPhone/iPad/iPod: "iTunes" allows you to subscribe to podcast and then sync them to your idevice.
Desktop: If you’d just like to have a "local" copy of the audio to play through your computer you can download it, or there are many excellent podcasting software options such as iTunes, Winamp or Zune.
